My painting "Faded Memories" is an abstract landscape painted in rich, dramatic coastal colors.
~Why is it, as I age, the memories fade so much? Birds and wildlife I've photographed and painted over the past ten years, I can remember in complete detail. But a friend's wedding I was in almost 40 years ago...the memory has faded. I can remember going, I can remember I was in the wedding, but I can't remember anything else about the trip or the actual ceremony. It feels odd, to only have bits and pieces left of the past. Perhaps I should have taken more photos, or perhaps I should have chronicled everything in a journal...then I'd have all of the details at my fingertips. But for now, all I'm left with is a faded memory, a misty recollection of an important life event.~
